Sometimes life continues on the outside,                                         while something inside you no longer feels quite right

You don't have to be in crisis to seek help, and you don't have to know exactly what you're looking for to begin

A conversation is a good place to start

Perhaps you've been struggling for some time. A relationship has broken down, you've experienced loss or a period of emotional difficulty, or something has happened that has changed how you see yourself and the world around you.

Perhaps you've been holding everything together, doing what is expected of you, yet increasingly feeling disconnected from yourself. You might recognise familiar patterns repeating, find yourself questioning who you are, or simply feel that something needs to change.

And sometimes there isn't one particular thing you can point to. Life may look fine from the outside, but something within you is asking for attention.

You might be wondering where to start, whether therapy could help, or whether anyone will really understand what you're experiencing.

You don't need to have the answers, know exactly what's wrong or find the right words before getting in touch.

I offer integrative psychotherapy as a space to explore what's happening, make sense of your experiences and begin to understand the patterns that shape how you feel, think and relate to others. Together, we can explore what might be getting in the way of feeling more connected to yourself and the life you want to live.

Whether you're experiencing emotional distress or seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, there's room to begin wherever you are.

A conversation is a good place to start.

If something here resonates, you're welcome to get in touch for an initial conversation. We can talk about what's bringing you here, what you're looking for and whether working together feels right.

There is no obligation to proceed. Just an opportunity to talk and explore whether I might be able to help.

Integrative Psychotherapy

People come to therapy for different reasons. Sometimes there is a clear difficulty or experience that needs attention. At other times, there is a growing sense of unease, disconnection or something unresolved that is difficult to put into words.

You might be experiencing:

  • Anxiety, emotional distress or persistent feelings of being overwhelmed.

  • Grief, loss or significant life changes.

  • Relationship difficulties and recurring patterns.

  • Questions around identity, belonging and self-worth.

  • The effects of difficult or traumatic experiences.

  • A sense of disconnection from yourself or the life you're living.

  • Feeling stuck, uncertain or unable to move forward.

Psychotherapy offers an opportunity to slow things down, explore what is happening beneath the surface and develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your experiences.

My approach is integrative, drawing on different psychological perspectives rather than following one fixed model. We work with what you bring, recognising that our experiences are shaped by our histories, relationships, emotions, bodies and the ways we have learned to navigate the world.

The work is collaborative and responsive to you. It can involve understanding the past, making sense of the present and exploring new ways of relating to yourself and others.

Beyond the Immediate Difficulty: Personal Understanding & Development

Not everyone comes to therapy because something is wrong.

Sometimes the motivation is a desire to understand yourself more deeply, explore a period of transition or make sense of questions about identity, purpose and direction.

You might be functioning well in many areas of your life but feel that something is missing, that you've outgrown familiar ways of being or that you want to experience life differently.

Our work can extend beyond addressing immediate difficulties into deeper personal exploration.

This might involve understanding the stories you've carried, recognising patterns that no longer serve you, reconnecting with your values and exploring what it means to live more authentically.

Psychotherapy provides the foundation for this exploration, offering a thoughtful and grounded space in which greater self-awareness, personal development and meaningful change can emerge.

How can I help?

How might we work together?

An Integrative Approach

I draw on psychosynthesis, somatic approaches and depth psychology, recognising that no single perspective can fully explain the complexity of a person.

Sometimes we understand something intellectually but continue to experience the same emotional responses or patterns. At other times, our bodies seem to hold experiences that are difficult to articulate or make sense of.

Our work can therefore involve more than talking alone.

Depending on what is helpful, we might explore:

Psychological understanding
Exploring your experiences, personal history, relationships and the beliefs or patterns that influence how you experience yourself and others.

Emotional and somatic awareness
Developing an awareness of how experiences are held and expressed through the body, emotions and nervous system, allowing space for things that may be difficult to put into words.

Deeper personal exploration
Exploring identity, meaning, values and the different aspects of yourself that influence how you live, relate and make choices.

Integration and change
Bringing greater awareness into everyday life, relationships and decisions, allowing new perspectives and possibilities to develop.

There is no predetermined route or expectation that you should experience things in a particular way. The work takes its shape from you, your circumstances and what emerges through our conversations.

A word before you connect with me

You don't need to arrive with the right words for what's going on. Most people don't.

You might have a clear idea of what you want to explore, or you might simply know that something isn't quite right. Both are perfectly valid places to begin.

A first conversation is an opportunity to talk about what's bringing you here, what it has been like to carry and what you might be looking for.

It's also an opportunity for us to get a sense of each other and consider whether working together feels appropriate.

There is no expectation or obligation to continue. Finding the right therapeutic relationship matters, and it's important that you feel comfortable with the person you choose to work with.

You don't have to figure everything out before making contact. We can start with a conversation.

Does any of this sound familiar?

Perhaps something happened, and you haven't quite felt the same since, even if nobody else would notice.

Perhaps you've built a life that works on paper but doesn't quite feel like yours.

Perhaps you've been through therapy before and understood a great deal about yourself, but still feel that something hasn't quite shifted.

Or perhaps it's quieter than that: a recurring sense that something remains unresolved, a feeling of being disconnected or a growing awareness that you want something more from yourself and your life.

You might recognise yourself in some of these thoughts:

"I seem to be managing everything, but I don't really feel like myself anymore."

"I understand why I do certain things, but I still find myself repeating the same patterns."

"Something from my past keeps showing up in my present."

"I've reached a point in my life where I'm questioning who I am and what I really want."

"I want to understand myself more deeply, but I don't quite know where to begin."

You don't need to identify with all of these, or even be able to explain what you're experiencing.

Sometimes recognising that something needs attention is enough of a reason to start a conversation.

Why Nick

A thoughtful, integrative approach to understanding the whole person.

I'm an integrative psychotherapist with 16 years of clinical practice, working across psychosynthesis, somatic approaches and depth psychology.

My approach has developed through clinical practice, academic study and many years of working with people across different cultures and environments.

Before and alongside my clinical work, I spent more than 25 years working within global corporate organisations, supporting wellbeing and mental health across diverse professional settings.

This experience has given me an appreciation of the different worlds people inhabit: their personal histories, relationships and inner experiences, alongside the responsibilities, expectations and pressures of everyday life.

I understand that what someone brings to therapy rarely exists in isolation. Our experiences of ourselves are influenced by the environments we live and work in, the relationships we form, the identities we carry and the ways we have learned to adapt.

I believe meaningful therapeutic work begins with genuine curiosity about the person, rather than an assumption about what they need.

My practice is collaborative, reflective and grounded in the belief that people are more than their difficulties or the experiences that have shaped them.

I am interested not only in what brings someone to therapy, but also in what becomes possible when they begin to understand themselves differently.

I am also the author of The Essence of Readiness to Practice: An Exploration of Psychotherapists' Subjective Experience (2011), reflecting my longstanding interest in the development, awareness and readiness of the therapeutic practitioner.
